September 2019: Jancis Robinson MW on Dédicace 2018, a validation that vindicates this “année noire”.

Our ‘pure high-extract’ chenin made Jancis Robinson think more of a chenin from the Loire than from South Africa, with that ‘toasty undertone that marks out great dry chenin.’  It is a ‘really exciting and impressive wine”, she concluded.

Because the 2018 vintage was so complicated, we were able to make only two of our five Limoux white wines. Our wines are known to like a year in the bottle, and  we decided to submit one to her for to taste now, and the other in a year’s time.

These are enormously encouraging tasting notes, enough to give courage to any winegrower who has had to face unprecedented, record-breaking, difficult climate conditions with radically diminished yields for three consecutive years.
