Master of Wine Rosemary George, acknowledged specialist on Languedoc wines, and author of a recently published  and thoroughly updated book about the Wines of the Languedoc, took a “snapshot of the wonderful diversity and originality” of this region  for Decanter Magazine.

Heading Decanter’s list of her Top 30 Languedoc Whites is the Chateau Rives-Blanques Chenin blanc, Dédicace 2016, “a wine with ageing potential from a leading estate in Limoux’, she said. It was put in the No 1 slot and awarded 96 points.

Also in the Top 30 was the Rives-Blanques mauzac, Occitania 2016,  ‘a rare example of the traditional grape variety of Limoux’.  This came in the 17th position, with 91 points.

A month ago, the third single varietal from Chateau Rives-Blanques, a chardonnay called Odyssée, was awarded Decanter’s gold medal and given 95 points.,   The same issue of Decanter magazine also carried an article on non-Champagne sparkling wines of France, , and awarded 90 points to our Crémant de Limoux Vintage Rose.
