July 2018: Jancis Robinson.com awards 17 points to the Chateau Rives-Blanques Vintage Rose (Cremant de Limoux)

“I can testify to the fact that the Southern French wines stood up very well to their global counterparts” said Tamlyn Currin, Jancis Robinson’s taster for an epic excursion into hundreds  still and sparkling rose wines from Languedoc and Roussillon, all tasted blind.

“There is a lot of potential for good sparkling wines from cooler, higher regions such as Limoux”, she added.  As for Vintage Rose, “this is right at the top of its class, but would easily fit in with rose Champagne”.

Vintage Rose is “Fine-boned, elegant, piercingly precise”, she concluded, awarding it 17 points.
