Absolutely delightful. Who needs champagne?
Jancis Robinson
Limoux has an enviable reputation for the quality of its sparkling wines: as far back as the 16th century, they were worth twice the price of the non-sparkling wines produced here. The latest newcomer to the region is Crémant de Limoux, which like Champagne, is based largely on Chardonnay. Limoux's Blanquette was the original inspiration for Champagne, and it is ironic that centuries later, Champagne should be the inspiration for Limoux's Crémant.
Crémant is also the newest addition to the Rives-Blanques range:

(AOC Crémant de Limoux)
The Rives-Blanques Blanc de Blancs is literally a mouthful ... of
fine and festive bubbles. This new quality addition to the
Rives-Blanques range of sparkling wines is crisp, clean
and
refreshing, and comes in magnum-sized bottles.
