December 2010: De Duizend van Duijker is the latest book to come from the pen of the world’s most published wine writer, and devotes two pages to a wholly sympathetic look at Rives-Blanques

The doyen of the Dutch writing corps, Hubrecht Duijker, has just published his latest book: a feast of a thousand vignettes ranging from the amusing to the instructive. Based on a lifetime in the wine business, Duijker’s easy hand makes this book as readible and enjoyable to the novice as to the expert. In the chapter on white wine, he devotes two pages to the story of Rives-Blanques, citing our chardonnay, Odyssée as ‘the Meurseult of the Languedoc’. He hailed the mauzac, Occitania as a most unique wine, and heaped welcome praise on our entry-level wine, the chardonnay-chenin country wine.
