April 2010: The leading Italian wine publication, Gambero Rosso focuses on the world’s biggest wine region, and highlights two Rives-Blanques wines … both made from mauzac

The Italian wine writer Guiseppi Carrus features the Languedoc in Gambero Rosso’s April edition. “The small but beautiful and interesting” Rives-Blanques vineyard was highlighted in this thoughtful overview of the world’s biggest wine region.

Special emphasis was placed on Limoux, home of Blanquette de Limoux “the first sparkling wine in history”. Carrus cites a happy combination of Mediterranean and Oceanique influences to explain the crisp freshness with a touch of minerality, that compliments the fruitiness of our wines.

He selected two wines from the Rives-Blanques range for special attention: the Blanquette de Limoux, and Cuvée Occitania: both made from Limoux’s indigenous grape, mauzac.
