June 2011: Steven Spurrier recommends the Rives-Blanques mauzac, Cuvée Occitania, in this month’s Decanter magazine.

‘A fine example of the mauzac grape … refreshing and original,’ says Steven Spurrier about the Rives-Blanques mauzac, Cuvée Occitania, in this month’s Decanter magazine.

Until recently the only Limoux made from Mauzac, Occitania was one of  his six recommended wines.  Mauzac is a grape variety that has been growing in Limoux for over 600 years, and is normally used as a base wine for the region’s famous sparkling wine, Blanquette de Limoux.
