The Daily Telegraph's wine writer Jonathan Ray suggests that the liver should be treated gently early in the Christmas festivies, and choses our Blanquette de Limoux, a 'creamily delicious alternative to Champagne' to kick off the proceedings on Christmas Eve. "It won't show you up in front of your guests" he adds, pointing out that it was discovered well before Champagne.
